Donald Trump has proposed a 200 per cent tariff on Australian pharmaceuticals, which if implemented could cost the Australian economy $2.8Bn.
The move comes amid growing pressure from pharmaceutical lobby groups in the US, for Trump to use trade negotiations to push for changes to the PBS.
Industry experts warn the tariffs could disrupt global supply chains and threaten Australia’s pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.
