Tensions mount over Iraqi Kurdistan independence vote

Iraqi Kurds will today vote for independence in a historic referendum.

The vote is non-binding, unconstitutional, and highly unpopular across the region but it will be deemed a small success for millions of Kurdish people.

What will the vote achieve and could a ‘yes’ vote spark secession movements in Turkey and Iran?
