Sovereignty not Constitutional recognition the key to Closing the Gap

One of the key areas of concern in the Government’s Closing the Gap campaign is the recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Federal Constitution, a cause Gillard has pledged $10 million dollars towards. But some Indigenous groups say recognition in the Constitution isn’t the answer to Closing the Gap, it’s having autonomy from the Government.
