Scientists from the University of Technology Sydney are asking the public to come with them on an underwater journey with drifting microscopic plankton to help build a global picture of how the organisms are affected by changes in ocean conditions.

These microscopic organisms play a hugely important role in our ecosystem. Not only do they fuel the underwater food chain. But it is estimated that over 90% of the world’s oxygen is produced by  marine plankton.
