The NSW Treasurer, Dominic Perrottet, is pushing to reform the Goods and Services Tax amid the COVID-19 financial crises.
Both reform options – to expand the base or to increase the rate – are controversial and there are winners and losers for both options.
As such, acheiving reform is quite difficult and the Federal Government has indicated that there would need to be a consensus among the states and terriroties before it will seriously consider GST reform.
