Floodwaters have receded in the devastated city of Bundaberg. But although the water’s gone down, community services on the ground are battling to deal with a different kind of inundation.
Many local organisations are being overrun by requests for help at a time when they too are trying to recover from floodwater-damage. Some are operating out of makeshift offices and travelling between evacuation centres to find people in need.
