Our understanding of frontier warfare in colonial Queensland will be forever poorer after a historian discovered the entire archive had been destroyed in 1939 or 1940. It comes after detailed research by Raymond Evans and Robert Orsted-Jensen in July which revealed over 65 000 Aboriginal people died at the hands of Native Police and settlers.
