Renewable energy sources such as wind, solar and hydro contribute a total of seventeen per cent to the total electricity generated in Australia according to a new report.
The inaugural Renewable Energy Index was released today by the research advisory body Green Energy Market and funded by community activist group, Get Up.
The index will be published monthly, adding pressure on the Government which is split over a decision on the renewable energy target.
