Support groups have expressed their outrage over Cardinal George Pell’s testimony last in Melbourne. Speaking to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse via a video-link from the Vatican, Cardinal Pell said it would not be appropriate for legal liability to be “foisted” on church leaders. He drew an analogy between the Catholic Church and a trucking company, saying the company would not be expected to take the same kind of responsibility for one of its drivers.
