Yesterday’s announcement by the US and China that both will work towards ambitious emissions reductions targets has left Australia looking out of the loop, particularly given Prime Minsiter Abbott’s determination to keep climate change off the G20 agenda. China will work through massive investment in renewables, and a de-emphasis on coal, threatening Australia’s coal markets.
