Hanging Rock in the Macedon Ranges was made famous by Joan Lindsay’s great Australian novel, Picnic at Hanging Rock. But a new proposal by the Macedon Ranges Council may threaten this great heritage, along with sacred Aboriginal land. A 100 room hotel, a conference centre and a day spa have been proposed for the area, and local residents are divided.
