An electoral funding bill set to pass in the lower house next week was canned in spectacular fashion today, after a Liberal backbench rebellion forced Opposition Leader, Tony Abbott, to pull his party’s support; leaving the Labor government with nowhere to go, scrapping the bill this afternoon.
