When Africa made the headlines in Australia recently, the stories have been about famine. Such was the case during the recent Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Perth. But a visiting journalist from Kenya in East Africa argues the one-dimensional coverage of Africa in the international media has damaging consequences.
