Tomorrow marks the 10th anniversary of conflict in Afghanistan. The milestone is rightly punctuated by the deaths of many soldiers and other combatants, but for some, is it is a reminder of the forgotten effects of the fighting.

Injuries, both mental and physical, continue to have their lasting effects on everyone involved in the war – including cilvilians. This is a fact often overlooked in mainstream media and therefore public discourse, but the 10th anniversary of the fighting could bring it back into view.
