Inquiry into Mental Health in Immigration Detention Centres

On any single day in an immigration detention centre in Australia there’s an average of three self-harm attempts. This month, there were 50 incidents of self-harm in just one week. This has led Commonwealth Ombudsman, Allan Asher, to launch an official inquiry into the increasing rates of suicide and self-harm in our detention centres.
