Bills introduced to end live export of all animals

Independent MPs Andrew Wilkie and Nick Xenophon, and Greens MP Adam Bandt introduced legislation to end live export of all animals in the Federal Parliament yesterday. The industry is conecerned a ban on live export will have severe economic implications for areas that rely on live export of animals. But advocates in favour of a ban argue it is not only in the best interest of the animals but also in the best long-term interest of farmers.
