The production of palm oil has led to deforestation and the death of Orangutans. But do we want to know that when we buy a product that contains palm oil? This question is at the heart a standing committee inquiry today. The inquiry is investigating a bill put forward by Independent senator Nick Xenophon, Greens leader Bob Brown and Nationals senator Barnaby Joyce… called “Truth in Labeling Laws- Palm Oil” it says that all products with palm oil should be clearly labeled. But there are some who argue that labelling won’t stop the destruction.
