Historic vote for Indigenous Australians’ national advocate body leaders

Another chapter has begun in the quest for self-determination of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Voting has closed in the first election of the male and female co-chairs of the newly formed National Congress of Australia’s First Peoples, which will advocate for Indigenous Australians … but how is it different from the former representative body, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission (ATSIC)?
