Smaller in magnitude but deadlier in scale – the NZ earthquake devastates Christchurch

The epicenter of the quake was 10km south east of Christchurch at a depth of 5km- it was closer to the city, and to the surface of the earth, than the previous earthquake in September. But it was these factors were what made this quake more devastating.
