The number of people checking in for alcohol treatment at one of Australia’s leading drug rehabilitation centres has jumped to record numbers. Sydney-based Odyssey House is reporting that alcohol accounted for almost 40 per cent of clients who entered the service over the past year. That’s the highest number of alcohol-related admissions in the organization’s 33 year history, and a 10 per cent leap from last year. Experts say the figures show only the surface of Australia’s alcohol problem.
