It sounds a bit obvious to say that the problem in the Middle east is the conflict between Israel and Palestine. But former Australian diplomat Peter Rodgers says that the ongoing conflict is a cover and a diversion for many other deeper problems in the area. In his book Arabian Plights – The future Middle East he argues that the new Obama administration should seize the moment and use its influence to diplomatically force an agreement.
