In any given week, as many as four and a half million people listen to more than 8 hours of community radio. The latest McNair survey was released today – showing an increase of 36% in audiences since 2004. The amount of community broadcasters has almost doubled over that period. But government funding to sector has been stagnant for nearly 15 years.
