Almost half the prisoners leaving incarceration in NSW will end up back in prison within two years. According to the Law and Justice Foundation, many of those that re-offend are the most vulnerable in our society. They say that these ex-prisoners face a myriad of obstacles when it comes to re-entering society. After interviewing prisoners, ex-prisoners and support groups, they released a report today outlining those issues.
