The South Australian election is underway, with former Federal Liberal Senator, Cory Bernardi announced as One Nation’s lead candidate for SA.
Mr Bernardi says “there’s no effective opposition to government”, terming the two major parties a “uniparty”.
One Nation leader, Pauline Hanson joined Bernardi in Adelaide and has since spoken about a national mega-coalition.
With just over six weeks until polling day, Bernardi’s candidature has stirred debate.
Premier Peter Malinauskas says he’s unfazed, while new Opposition Leader Ashton Hurn has highlighted some concern.
Meanwhile, the Greens warn One Nation could secure the balance of power in the Upper House.
