The spreading of misinformation and false claims online about the Indigenous Voice to Parliament is worsening a significant lack of knowledge about the proposed advisory body.

A recent True Issues Survey by JSW found 34% percent of participants didn’t know anything about the Voice to Parliament except what was called and 15% of participants had never heard of it.

Barriers to accessing the internet and low literacy rates in remote Indigenous communities are further exacerbating a sense of confusion about what the proposed constitutional amendment would entail. High cost of living and generational trauma have also increased disengagement.
