Polls had predicted that Dr Kerryn Phelps could win if she got to the number two position in first preference votes.

This appears to be what has taken place – with the caveat that there is still a small chance that the Liberals Dave Sharma could make a late run with some choice bundles of heavily Liberal postal votes.
