The Australian Treasury is calling for submissions from the public about new regulations cracking down on Australian charities using funds to benefit crimes overseas, including terrorism.

A national risk assessment made by the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission last year found that between 2012 and 2016, 28 suspicious matter reports linked to Non Profit Organisations were filed, with a total value of $5.6 million potentially used to finance terrorism.
