Darwin Aboriginal organisation Larrakia Nation may have to close its doors in December if it cannot repay a huge debt incurred by one of its programs. The Return To Country program helped itinerant people get back to their communities by covering their travel costs.
Larrakia Lation helps many of Darwin’s most disadvantaged people by providing many other vital services, including aged care, night patrol and medical care to the homeless.
They are now urging both the state and federal governments to provide them more financial support but at this stage there have been no offers for solutions.
