Goat Island in Sydney Harbour returned to traditional owners

The NSW government has announced it will return Goat Island to the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council.

The island sits right in the middle of Sydney Harbour, just over a kilometre west of the Harbour Bridge.

The successful land claim has been praised by the NSW Aboriginal Land Council, but one traditional owner says the transfer of public assets to a private organisation is worrying.
