Japan’s government has passed new legislation in their lower parliament which would allow a military force to deploy overseas. In the past, Japanese peacekeeping forces have been involved in efforts across Cambodia, Timor Leste and Iraq, but this would add a new element for their military’s capacity unheard of since WWII.
